AK-47 Handguard Sticker?
I have been refinishing AK-47 stocks and parts for spare cash since being unemployed. I buy various "junk" condition sets and aside from the usual carved names and designs and such, I got an upper handguard today with this sticker on it. I showed nalioth and he said post it here. Out of curiosity anyone know what/where it's from? Or what it says?

Well, it would have been more helpful if the last one was right-side up...
But I suppose I can download it and flip it so I can figure it out.
Maybe Knecht can read it even though it isn't Czech. Don't know what else he is able to read.
there, it is flipped now....

Well, I googled what you discerned from it Warthog. Comes up with a LOT of hits but it's all in foreign language. Also got these cool pics with very similar logos:

It's from Croatia. Their language is not so close to Czech or any other I know, so I can't tell you much about this unit. What i can understand from Wikipedia, it seems to be some sort of homeland defense unit, established in 1992 and then enlisted to the Army. Looks like they did well in 9 battles at least.

Interesting, I'm gonna leave it on and see if I can find a collector who's interested. Thanks a lot for the help.

No problem. Sorry I couldn't translate more. Feel free to ask me again if you have some more. I'm just not great at Yugoslavian languages, though I can get the basic meaning of it. I'm much better (in Czech of course), Slovak and Polish language, some basic Russian and Ukraine too. The best thing you can do to understand other Slav nations is to get drunk together. This way we can always get back in time to the point before the Slav language family divided into several groups.
In fact, people told me I was even able to speak perfect German, but that ment getting back to 2000BC and you can imagine how I felt the next morning...usually my German is quite poor.
